Ik heb ergens gelezen dat de geheugen capaciteit van een van de modules 70kb is en dat Fortran als programmeer taal is gebruikt. De oude Nasa programmeurs zijn natuurlijk al lang met pensioen of sk. Zouden deze weer geraadpleegd zijn bij het omzetten van de geheugenlocaties?

Het blijft toch een sterk staaltje van techniek. Midden October is Voyager 1 overgeschakeld op backup transmitter in S-band die 43 jaar (!) niet is gebruikt. Dit na auto protection werd ingeschakeld ivm on board problemen.

Mission Control van onder andere de Voyagers, maar ook de Rovers is in Passadena, California. Ben daar eens op een open dag geweest. Erg indrukwekkend wat ze bij JPL doen. NASA is een publieke instelling, dus open dagen zijn verplicht.

Een grote factor waarom dingen stuk gaan, is omdat er mensen in de buurt waren

Als ik een 43 jaar oude transceiver aanschakel, dan moet ik uitkijken dat er niet wat onderdelen uit elkaar ploffen.

Ja de voyager 1 is weliswaar 41 jaar oud maar niet de de oudste Oscar 7 AO-07 word dit jaar 50 jaar is
gelanceerd in 1974 en werkt nog prima heb daar vele qso's over gemaakt.
